for Bible School & Home School Teachers
Here are some links to additional/supplemental resources for your classroom as per quarter and lesson in the Sleuth for the Truth curriculum. These are simply to save you time from scouring the internet. If the resource is a video, click to play and choose widescreen for optimal viewing. Some will go to our products (check to see if you already have them first!).
to Sleuth for the Truth
This page is for creative midweek reinforcement from "Quarter 2" of Sleuth for the Truth, the year-long curriculum plan for Sunday school.
However, this plan is ULTRA-tweakable and can be used with your own method of teaching these books!
Grab Quarter 2 with all activity centres HERE
for out-of-class motivation
Included in FUN SHEETS are:
"ALL ABOUT ME" zip file for students (and teachers)
Lesson 1: PSALMS
"The song book"
A FREE Activity from Kathleen Applebee. Psalm 146 Reader's Theater takes a look at the 10 verses in this Psalm by having Bible characters join the readers to describe events in their lives that show God to be worthy of out praise.
SCRIPT: Psalms 146
Lesson 2: I KINGS
"The Good, the Bad,
& the Ugly"
Don't forget to access "A Teacher's Guide to Biblical Kings & Prophets" in your Sleuth Curriculum!
**Consider the Kings intruction video
Here is the video I made for the release of this product. I used the original by-hand crowns and clouds, whereas you have access to the printed professional version!
These CONSIDER THE KINGS lessons are already FULL of information, but if you suddenly find you need another resource (or something to split up your class into units of activity):
Here is a cooperative game that features mechanics like "Pandemic." It's got some great additions that make it unique and thematically exciting for your classroom (check the age first to see if your students would enjoy it). FIND &/OR PURCHASE "Kings of Israel" Board Game HERE!
Teacher's Guide to Biblical Kings and Prophets
Lesson 3: II KINGS
"The Good, the Bad,
& the Ugly" II

Lesson 5: ECCLESIASTES & SONG OF SOLOMON
"Wine, Women, & Song"
1. The Wisdom Song It sure is a good message to learn! If you don't know this song, you might consider teaching it to your students!
2. SEEK YE FIRST This is another possibility for a wisdom song, a cover song by DBFG Kids for Sovreign Grace Music.
To put some light-heartedness in this possibly depressing message, here is a scene from "What About Bob?" with Bill Murray. You can decide whether or not it's a good fit for your class. :)
These free colouring pages below are based on the book of Ecclesiastes.
Some possibilities for closing class (possibly while colouring):
Lesson 6: AMOS & JONAH (and other MINOR PROPHETS)
SONG: Seek Ye First
Always a good song to learn. This is the slower version with lyrics in case you have some who don't know it.
Jonah - The story of Jonah and the Fish by Saddleback Kids Ministry.
Lesson 7: ISAIAH
"Dare to Discipline"
LESSON 8: ISAIAH (the sequel)
"Glimpses of Glory"
**ISAIAH'S PROPHECIES OF A SAVIOUR
A colouring book that tracks with images how the prophecies of Isaiah were directly about Jesus!
With paper lunch sacks and this print out -- your students can make their own lamb puppet -- a fun thing to show that they've memorized ISAIAH 40:11 -- as they let the "lamb" say it! :-)
Some activities from others at low $$:
LESSON 9: JEREMIAH
"Going, Going ... Gone!"
An excellent, upbeat song to teach God's young followers!
This is an excellent video to tell all the stories of Jeremiah in about 20 minutes.
Jeremiah Video Option 2
This is a cute animated young children's version compilation about the life of the prophet Jeremiah.
Though the pronunciations may (or may not be) what you're used to hearing, this one has good questions at the end!
ACTIVITY CENTER OPTIONS:
*note: some of these resources may ask you to pay a low price if you do not already have access to the SLEUTH FOR THE TRUTH, Quarter 2 curriculum.
From our SSS resource:
Some from others at a low $:
**Jeremiah, the Weeping Prophet (by KidzRock University - small fee)
Lesson 10: EZEKIEL & LAMENTATIONS
"The Towering Inferno"
Two versions (two slightly different tunes, one a cappella)
2. The Steadfast Love (a cappella, fast)
using the first letter of the alphabet write your first line together and then continue with each letter in the sequence
EZEKIEL'S PHYSICAL PROPHESIES - WATCH FROM MINUTE 1:55 (highlighting 2:35 to 4:44).
TWO VIDEOS ABOUT "DEM BONES" and one song in the video
1. from Share Faith
2. from 100 Bible Stories
Lesson 11: DANIEL
Highlights from the powerful stories of Daniel (video): A Chronological Look at Daniel (for the teacher)
We advise this order:
1. Watch first: to get the idea of the crazy stories for YOU.
2. Teach both lessons (Sunday and Wednesday).
3. Watch with students to help them KINDA piece together what they've been learning. (We only mean "kinda" because it jumps around so much....)
Daniel and His Friends Obeyed God
Why Daniel was Thrown in There!
MORE DANIEL ACTIVITIES
**DREAM WEAVER SCRIPT - A "scripted" conversation between Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar about his frightening dream (with learning & colouring activity) ...
** I'm Not LION! (matching game by The Supercharged Sunday School
EVEN MORE FUN:
This is a fun activity to do while listening to It's Cool in the Furnace.
"MENE MEN TEKEL UPHARSIN" -- what?
This is a fun and very educational activity to explain what it means.
Lesson 12: MINOR PROPHETS Nahum, Zephaniah, Habakkuk, Zechariah, Haggai
"Recess is OVER!"
This game is an awesome word search kids love to play because the words are so great! It’s an excellent way to remember the warning from the Lord to Haggai about His people.
ZEPHANIAH CHORAL READING & GRAPHICS
**Free and copyright free!
These make great graphics for PowerPoint, illustrations, memory verses and other projects.
Choral reading is a wonderful strategy for whole group reading that helps struggling readers to gain practice and confidence.
Disney example of a "prologue-- Of course, it is at your discretion in timing if/when you want to use this, but it gives a great idea of what a "prologue" is ...
This is a great video to watch BEFORE reviewing the lesson and deciding what resources to use.
It provides a great "big picture" of Zechariah's visions which foster hope in the future promise of the messianic kingdom. it also gives Israel the challenge (after the exile) to remain faithful to God.
Pay special attention to the eight visions.
